Sani Ghose Ray is a Kolkata-based film director, producer, and one of the driving forces behind Acropoliis Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., one of East India’s most dynamic content studios. He is also the founder of the line production company Greyscale Entertainment.
With a career spanning over two decades, made a remarkable impact across television, OTT, and cinema — blending artistic depth with commercial success.
OTT Success & Directorial Work
Sani made a powerful directorial debut with Bonyo Premer Golpo on Hoichoi, marking the beginning of a bold new voice in Bengali streaming content. Since then, he has directed some of the most talked-about Bengali originals, including:
• Shwetkali (Zee5) – One of the biggest Bengali hits ever on Zee5, breaking records and setting a new benchmark for regional thrillers.
• Srikanto (Hoichoi) – A reimagined musical take on a classic character that resonated with both new and nostalgic audiences.

From TV Icon to OTT Pioneer
Sani’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2009 with Bengali television, where he redefined daily storytelling. Under his leadership, Acropoliis Entertainment has produced over 25 hit television series, creating iconic characters and unforgettable story arcs on channels like Star Jalsha, Zee Bangla, and Colors Bangla. Some of the standout shows include: Raashi, Agniparikhsha, Bokul Katha, Bodhuboron, Sanjher Bati, Irabatir Chupkotha, Mon Phagun, Gaatchhora, Komola o Shriman Prithviraj. He also produced the critically acclaimed nonfiction show Ghosh & Co., hosted by the legendary Rituparno Ghosh.
